Back in November I was invited by my undergraduate alma mater to come and lead a workshop to build a Nest for the Art of Space event. With a great group of students and community participants we built 2 exciting nests - one large nest inside a student gallery ad another small nest that was rolled in our own parade about a mile to the center of downtown Springfield for their monthly ArtWalk event.
The event was a great success and the Nests seem to have been embraced by the Drury community. The school had the Art of Space group build a long-term nest installation as an outdoor classroom and lounge area. They re-used all of the tubing from the November nests and added some more. The result is an enormous nest that forms a torus around a large oak tree - the largest nest made to date!
